German Hans Florian Zimmer is a much adored film composer and music producer. He has worked on many famous film scores including The Lion King, Gladiator and wrote the score for the Oscar winning 12 Years a Slave. Recently Zimmer has had huge success with Director Cristopher Nolan, writing the scores for The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception and Interstellar. He has received many awards over his outstanding career, including four Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Academy Award.
Time, the soundtrack to Nolan’s Inception, has to be one of the best scores I’ve ever heard in a film – at least since I started paying more attention to them. Zimmer has a reputation for mixing electrical, computer generated sounds with more classical big orchestra performances. This song is almost overflowing with a sense of power, but also a sense of real emotion and passion – a pretty inspirational song if I’ve ever heard one.
