Run All Night (or as I’m calling it, Liam Neeson 8-or-so) is an action drama starring Liam Neeson as hit man Jimmy Conlon, who is drawn into problems when his estranged son Mike (Joel Kinnaman) is wanted dead by his best friend and mob boss Shawn Maguire (Ed Harris). The story follows the Conlon’s as they spend the night on the run from the mob, cops and hit men sent for their heads.
Again, this is a very simple plot designed to put Neeson in situations he performs best – under-threat but in charge, everything we see from his on a regular basis. For some this would have gotten tedious, and I must admit that I haven’t seen a Liam Neeson film in years – in my mind they are all the same now (hence the name), like the Fast & Furious films and other such films.
Set for release this Friday (13th March, unlucky for some), if I was to stick my neck out I would say that this probably won’t do well in the box office. There are many better films out right now and if people are going to go to the cinema they are more likely to go see something like Focus, or maybe even Chappie!
